Red Ribbon Week :: October 19 - 23
It is important to always be educating our students about tobacco, alcohol, and drug safety. One week each year, we emphasize the importance of being drug free. This year we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week the week of October 19, 2009 to October 23, 2009. Big Springs Elementary’s theme for this year is “Join The Fight Against Drugs”.
There will be a poster contest and prizes will be drawn daily for students who turn in their signed pledges. The PTA also provided daily incentives for all students to remind them the importance of Red Ribbon Week. A schedule will be going home in Friday Folders soon, so students and parents will know activities we will be doing each day to celebrate Red Ribbon Week.
Friday, October 16th: “Red Ribbon Week Kick Off”
To kick off Red Ribbon week we will have a school wide assembly on Friday, October 16, 2009, with Keith Davis, a former NFL player and now a motivational speaker.
