Big Springs PTA!
The PTA provides a vast resource of volunteers to the school for a variety of activities and events. The jobs and related responsibilities come in a wide range of assignments and duties that may last from a few hours to several months.
The Big Springs PTA invites all parents to volunteer at Big Springs Elementary School. Many programs at Big Springs would not exist without the help of our enthusiastic volunteers. The best way to get included in volunteer opportunities at BSE is to fill out the online volunteer profile. It is available at time of registration on the BSE web site or can be accessed by logging in and clicking the profile link.
Being a volunteer at Big Springs Elementary school is a wonderful opportunity and a big responsibility. Below is a Code of Volunteers every volunteer should bear in mind while serving the school as a volunteer.
- As a volunteer, I realize that I am subject to the same code of ethics as the professional. I, like them, in assuming certain responsibilities, expect to be accountable for those responsibilities.
- As a volunteer, I agree to serve without pay, but with the same high standards as the paid staff expects to do their work.
- I promise to take to my work an attitude of open mindedness; to be willing to be trained for it; to bring to it an interest and attention.
- I believe that my attitude toward volunteer work should be professional. I believe that I have an obligation to my work, to those who direct it, to my colleagues, to those for whom it is done, and to the community.
- I will keep confidential matter confidential.
- Being eager to contribute all that I can to human betterment, I accept this Code for the Volunteer as my code to be followed carefully and cheerfully.
Finally, all volunteers must complete the online volunteer background check form each year. Please complete this now if you expect to attend class parties, work in the classroom, volunteer, read to children, chaperone field trips or almost any other activity at the school. We had several parents last year surprised by the new policy to check all volunteers an an annual basis.
Thank you for donating your time, talent and enthusiasm to the Big Springs PTA. For more information about volunteer opportunities, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
